For anyone who has just had a biospy and is interested in getting the most out of their followup visit to the doctor, the following is a check list put together by Preston Black.
1. How many cores were taken?
2. What is the Gleason score and percent cancerous tissue for each core?
3. What stage is it? (TNM)
4. Any indication of metastasis?
5. Were the biopsy samples examined by a pathologist who sub-specializes in examining prostate
cores?
6. How would I go about getting a second opinion on the pathology results?
7. What treatment option does the doctor feel is best for me?
8. What is the long-term outlook for me with the doctor’s recommended treatment?
